Spindle Back Chair

Our Spindle Back chairs are in many ways the most sculptural pieces of furniture we make. Every aspect of these chairs are crafted by hand. The trees we use are individually selected for their straightness, components are split out by hand from the log before being carved and shaped with hand tools. The result is a contemporary interpretation of a traditional Windsor classic that exhibits myriad of facets and tool marks as a reminder of how lovingly they have been made.

Shown are two styles of spindle we offer; one with a stepped taper and the other a straight taper. We also make these chairs for occasional use (with a more relaxed posture) or as a dining/desk chair (with more upright posture).

Available in ash, oak or a variety of painted finishes.
